Different Kinds of Perfumes

Perfume is an aromatic fluid used on the body to give out a nice fragrance. It has played a pivotal role through civilizations. Perfume has a number of reasons to be used. Perfumes indicate one’s personality and create your presence in your absence. If one wants that pleasant scent to be intact around you then you must use the scent for at least four hours.
The human civilization has been known to use perfumes since ages. History records humans applying oils, resins, herb extracts and animal fragrances on their hair and body. Perfumes make the individual appealing and give out an exotic smell that surrounds the air. Perfumes, more than the user creates a better atmosphere for the others. Perfumes are in use both from traditional eras to contemporary times, with the current perfume industry turnover of billions every year. Perfume is lavishness compared to a necessity, and yet its popularity grows every year.
Variety of Perfumes:
Pure Perfume is very rare as it is costly and easier to ‘overdo’. Softly aromatic include Eau du cologne and toilet water. Eau du cologne was actually a mixture from citrus-floral made in Cologne, Germany that had a light odor and could be used more freely. This is actually toilet water with a scented compound of about 5-15% but with time it became more common and came to be substituted for toilet water.
Perfume oil is another specific kind of perfume but these are different from the perfumes on the fact that their solvent is based on oil and not alcohol. Usually these are liked by the people with dry skin who find the oil solvent quite drying. With a little melted beeswax, making it a waxy solid to be used on the skin one can turn perfume oil into a complete perfume.
Customers are generally more comfortable with Eau du perfume which is 15-30% scented. This consists of actual perfume oils of about 8-15%. Solid scents are often cast into pillboxes or small compacts which get inside easily in purses or bags for quick application but never forget to leave it in the car on a hot and humid day.
The perfume in general has the ingredients of 15 to 25% perfumed oil, Eau de Parfum (EDP) having 15 to 30% essential oils, Eau de Toilet (EDT) has 8 to 15% oils and the not so strong Eau de Cologne has about 5-15% essential oil.
In the present days, everyone is too busy to personally shop from the shops. Conducive, time saving, cost effective shopping is what online shopping is all about. Without wasting time and money, one can easily shop online rather than from retail stores. Try out a sample perfume or use it as a trial before putting it on confirming that it suits your persona and style.
Whats Common in Chocolates & Perfumes

It’s spring, that time of year when many women (and men? is this universal?) start knocking off the sweets in a last-ditch effort to lose a few pounds before swimsuit season officially begins. Or so I’m told. Happily, no such impulse has come over me as of yet. Here are seven dark chocolate bars, listed in order of my preference from outstanding right on down through disgusting, along with the usual random perfume recommendations because this is a PERFUME blog.
Starting out with awesome! eat three!, we’ve got the Calindia bar by Vosges (cardamom, organic walnuts, dried plums dark chocolate, see image above). This doesn’t have quite the same rush of cardamom as Dolfin’s Noir Cardamome, but it’s still a generously spiced bar. The walnuts and plums are in small pieces and they’re relatively sparse, so the cardamom is the predominant flavoring and the nuts and fruits provide texture and sweetness, respectively, as much as anything else. The pretentious “How to enjoy an exotic candy bar” screed on the back of every Vosges bar annoys me to no end (“Place a small piece of chocolate on your tongue and press it to the roof of your mouth”, c’mon, give me a break), but I’ll forgive them so long as they keep making chocolate bars this good. The matching perfume: Nelly Rodi Scent Factory Cardamome.
I have never eaten passion fruit (known as maracuya in much of South America), but if Santander’s Passion Fruit is any indication, I need to. This has a fabulously tart fruity flavor and a nice crunch, and if I didn’t keep devouring the bars at my desk, I’d melt some to pour over vanilla ice cream. Wonderful. Santander also makes a pineapple bar, and it is fine but didn’t wow me nearly as much as this one did. To wear while eating: Prescriptives Calyx.
Fans of your basic chocolate/nut combinations will want to try Chuao Chocolatier’s Caracas bar (dark chocolate with almonds, hazelnuts and pistachios). It’s a nice bar, with good quality chocolate and lots of nuts, but I can’t make myself love it. In chocolate as with perfumes, perhaps, I want a little bit of weird, so I’ll stick with their nutmeg-y Chinita Nibs instead. But this one is awfully good, and I feel guilty for not liking it better. Matching perfume: Boucheron Miss Boucheron, which I also ought to like better than I do.
I love Mounds bars, but they’re awfully sweet, and let’s face it, Hershey’s is not using what you’d call high quality chocolate in their Mounds bars. So I was excited to see the Playa del Coco bar from Seeds of Change in my local grocery store’s organic section. Playa del Coco blends dark chocolate with coconut and coconut extract. It’s nice, but …really, it’s still way too sweet, and the chocolate itself just isn’t quite fabulous enough to compete with other high end bars on the market. Extra points for easy availability, organicness (that isn’t a word, is it?) and Seeds of Change’s commitment to sustainable agriculture, but I don’t think I’d buy it again. If anyone has tried any of their other bars, please comment. Matching perfume: Comptoir Sud Pacifique Coco Extreme, perhaps.
I do hope that someone who knows way more about chocolate than I do will comment on Hachez. Perhaps they’re wonderful, but the three bars I’ve tried have not won me over. The Cocoa d’Arriba Mango & Chili bar has a nice mixture of hot spice and tart fruit, and is my favorite of the three. Their Cocoa d’Arriba Blackberry & Cocoa Nibs sounded marvelous, but it has an oddly bitter, almost chalky aftertaste that I find unpleasant. Their Cocoa d’Arriba Strawberry & Pepper sounded even more marvelous still, but it is the only chocolate bar I’ve ever thrown away after one bite. You can read a much more positive review at chocablog, and I should note that all of the Hachez bars are 77% cacao, a higher pecentage than any of the other bars under consideration here today. Perhaps that is just more chocolate than I can stand. Matching perfume: Serge Lutens Borneo 1834.

How to Choose The Right Perfume : Advanced Tips

There’re thousands of fragrances on the market, and it can sometimes be difficult to choose the one that suits your tastes, your personality, occasion and other factors. Check out the following suggestions that may be useful when choosing and even wearing the perfect perfume for you.
1. Set your budget
The perfume is priced in a very wide range, from very cheap colognes to designer luxury brands. Determining your budget or the money you’re willing to spend in advance, will help narrow the choices and you will save much time.
2.Think about what smell you want and get it
Decide what kind of perfume you want depending on what flavor of use would be for you. For example, for special occasions? Is it to attract or please a lover? Is it for an average every day ? If you consider to attract someone make sure you research the specific odors that he or she likes. If you want to get an every day perfume for wearing to work or school, buy a lighter, fresher scent. If it’s for parties and formal events, choose a perfume that makes a stronger impact from mixing with your body chemistry.
3.Take a deeper look before you buy
When you have finally choosed and you’re ready to go to a perfume shop, be sure to thoroughly review each scent you want, before you purchase. Before you start spraying a perfume on the wrist, spray first on a cardboard or paper and decide if you like. Otherwise, go to the next. When you find a perfume that you think is perfect, start to test it on your body. Apply a small amount on your wrist or back of your arm. Lady sometimes offer to use some of her own skin to make you feel it on her. This is a no-no, because each of us reacts to scents in different ways. Make sure the fragrance is perfect putting it on your own skin. Wait a few minutes because the smell starts to grow on you and smell different after a while.

Review of Chaleur D’animale Eau De Perfume by Animale For Women

What makes Marshall’s one of my favorite spots to pick up perfume is the fact that they carry desirable designer fragrances, and fragrances that most don’t even know exist. The one thing they all have in common though, is the low, low prices of both well known, and little known fragrances. I picked up a bottle of Chaleur D’Animale Eau De Perfume by Animale, recently for only .00. The bottle itself was shrink wrapped, and inside of a round cardboard package. I bought it without knowing how it would smell, or if it would even be any good. I like the mystery though, and for .00, if it was horrid, I’d just wrap it up and give it to someone for Christmas. The round package the bottle comes in has a neat little animal print on its outside, it resembles the fur of a leopard. When I opened the package to reveal the mystery bottle, I was a little surprised at how much the bottle seemed to clash with the packaging. It looked like a manly bottle, with a bland cylinder shape to it, and an odd chain added to the very bottom of the bottle. I didn’t like it, granted it was unique, it just seemed awkward, and is a bottle I wouldn’t save once the perfume itself were gone.
The Scent: Chaleur D’Animale Eau De Perfume by Animale at first has a very strong high potent bug spray fragrance to it, which made it seem initially very manly. It is described as a many scent, and that is definitely true. As the first bug spray fragrance began to fizzle away, I was left with a spicy scent that reminded me of amber and honey. It’s nice, but you have to wait for the scent to dry on your skin for a bit, before those fragrances become noticeable. All in all though, the scent is not a bad one at all. It’s a bit more masculine than I would have liked, but it was decent. One I would wear on occasion.
The Last: Chaleur D’Animale Eau De Perfume, does pack a long lasting kick. It stuck with me for hours and hours, and as time went on the stronger scents died down into a more pleasant spiced fragrance that was subtle, yet noticeable enough.
Overall: I like it. For .00, Chaleur D’Animale Eau De Perfume is not a bad buy at all. It’s a bit masculine, but also feminine enough to recommend to women. Some men may even like this one more than the cologne.

How to make your perfume last longer

Many women get confused about the different types of fragrances that are available, eau de toilette, eau de parfum and perfume are the three main types of fragrances. Each has a different concentration of oils and scents and each lasts for different lengths of time.
Perfume: The strongest of the three, the concentration of pure fragrance oils can be anything from 15 to 40 per cent. 50 per cent of the fragrance will last all day.
Eau de parfum: Around 13 per cent of this is pure fragrance oils and about 30 per cent of the fragrance will last all day.
Eau de toilette: Up to 10 per cent of this is pure fragrance oils and around 20 per cent will last all day.
How to make it last longer.
Layering:
Matching scented body products will really help your scent to last, these create layers of smell trapping the scent next toy our skin. Many perfumes have matching products now such as bubble bath, moisturiser and even body shimmer.
Timing:
Try putting your perfume on when you get out of the bath, it’s the last thing many women put on, normally as they are rushing out of the door. Perfume needs time to react with the skin, it needs time to warm up and absorb. Putting it on whilst your skin is still warm and damp will really help make it last longer.
Petroleum Jelly:
Dab a small amount of petroleum jelly on your neck and wrists and spray the perfume onto there, this will help it to last.
Clothes:
Spray some onto your clothes, make sure it will not stain or damage the fabric. As there is very little chemical reaction between the fabric and the perfume, it will last much longer.
Hair: Spray a little on your hair, your hair will act as a diffuser and release a little fragrance every time you move your head. Only use a little though as you don’t want to dry hair out.
Pick the Perfect Perfume to Match your Personality

If you are a total romantic, who is sometimes prone to daydreams of Prince Charming on a white horse sweeping you off your feet…then go for a light, sweet, floral scent. Something that may have ingredients, or notes (as they’re called) of rose, sweet pea, peonies, jasmine, tuberose or lily. Suggestions: Gucci – Envy Me, Ralph Lauren – Romance, Clinique – Clinique Happy
If you are sexy, mysterious, and a little daring, go for a perfume that is rich, warm, and sensual. Perhaps a perfume that is a little spicy and woody. Look for notes of vanilla, musk, cinnamon, clove, or patchouli. Suggestions: Dior – Dior Addict, Calvin Klein – Obsession, Givenchy – Hot Couture.
If you are sweet and wholesome – the quintessential “girl next door”, then look for a perfume that is light, fresh, and clean. Something with notes of fresh greens like cut grass, violet leaves, and green tea leaves; cool and refreshing aromas like sea breeze, mint, and dew; and clean scents like soap, cotton, and freesia. Suggestions: Demeter Fragrance Library – Laundromat, CLEAN – Lather, Marc Jacobs Splash – Rain.
If you are energetic, sporty, free spirited and possibly a little crazy, then go for a perfume that is a vivacious citrusy scent. Look for notes of lemon, mandarin, pink grapefruit, or orange. Suggestions: Stila – Mandarin Mist, Gap – So Pink, Marc Jacobs Splash – Grapefruit.
